So, You Think You're Professional !

I meet a lot of Director, Senior Managers, Programme Managers and Project Managers in my line of work, how many of them do you think I class as truly 100% Professional, less than 10.

If you are a professional IT Programme or Project Manager, the following will always ring true to you;
  • I keep the end game in sight at all times
  • I understand that its my Team that will deliver the Project, not me on my own
  • I look after my team, I use their skills well, I care that they are content and working effectively
  • I understand the project requirements
  • I understand the project design
  • I am pro-actively working, all the time, to keep my team working effectively
  • I only work with the facts, I don’t second guess
  • I am 100% reliable, committed and objective
  • I don't make snap decisions
  • I do ensure my team is effective and not held up un-necessarily, by me or others
  • I lead by example
  • I praise god quality, hard work by my team
  • I support my team in its decision making
  • A wrong decision is our decision, a right decision is their decision
  • I am always there if needed, in person, on the phone, via email
  • I don't treat issues as personal, I always remain objective
  • I always address poor performance directly, by verbally communication
  • I always check the facts and see for myself, nothing is left to chance
  • I always check and double check the position before making key decisions
  • I enjoy my role and my team feeds of my positive approach.
